Supervision & Consultation

Supervision for Pre-Licensed Clinicians Seeking External Supervision Towards Licensure

$100/hour

The transition from graduate student to independently licensed clinician can be both exciting and overwhelming. Clinical supervision provides a supportive, collaborative space to strengthen your clinical skills, develop your professional identity, and build confidence in your ability to navigate the complexities of clinical practice.

I offer individualized external clinical supervision for pre-licensed mental health professionals working toward independent licensure. My approach emphasizes clinical growth, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and the development of confidence and autonomy as a clinician.

I believe effective supervision should be a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, acknowledging uncertainty, exploring mistakes, and challenging yourself without fear of judgment. You aren't expected to have all the answers, and supervision shouldn't make you feel as though you need to.

Areas of Focus

  • Clinical Case Conceptualization: Strengthening your ability to understand complex presentations, identify maintaining factors, and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Evidence-Based Treatment: Developing clinical knowledge and skills in CBT, ERP, ACT, CBT-E, and other evidence-based approaches.

  • Ethical Decision-Making: Navigating professional boundaries, confidentiality, documentation, risk assessment, and challenging clinical situations.

  • Professional Identity Development: Exploring your therapeutic style, values, strengths, and areas for continued growth.

  • Clinical Confidence and Imposter Syndrome: Learning to tolerate uncertainty, trust your clinical judgment, and move away from unrealistic expectations of perfection.

  • Therapeutic Relationships: Navigating challenging client dynamics, therapeutic ruptures, resistance, and appropriate use of self in therapy.

  • Professional Development: Building the skills necessary to practice independently, establish healthy professional boundaries, and maintain a sustainable career.

My Supervisory Approach

My supervision style is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in the belief that becoming a competent therapist doesn't mean becoming a therapist who never makes mistakes.

I aim to create an environment where developing clinicians feel supported while also being appropriately challenged to think critically, recognize their blind spots, and take ownership of their clinical decisions.

Supervision is about more than accumulating hours toward licensure. It's about developing the clinical judgment, self-awareness, and confidence necessary to become the kind of therapist you want to be.

Eligibility

Pre-licensed clinicians pursuing independent licensure in Pennsylvania, subject to applicable state licensing board requirements and confirmation of supervisory eligibility.

External supervision is provided independently of your employment or clinical placement. A formal supervision agreement must be established before services begin, and arrangements must comply with applicable licensing board requirements, including any requirements for coordination with your employer or clinical site.

Professional Consultation for Licensed Clinicians

$150/hour

Professional consultation provides a collaborative, supportive space for mental health professionals seeking clinical guidance, professional development, and increased confidence in their work.

Whether you're navigating a complex clinical case, exploring a new treatment approach, or looking for a fresh perspective on a challenging situation, consultation offers an opportunity to reflect, ask questions, and strengthen your clinical decision-making skills.

With specialized experience in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and related conditions, I offer individualized consultation grounded in evidence-based practices, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

Areas of Consultation

  • Clinical Case Conceptualization: Explore complex presentations, differential diagnoses, treatment barriers, and individualized treatment planning.

  • OCD and ERP Consultation: Develop exposure hierarchies, identify subtle compulsions, address treatment resistance, and navigate complex OCD presentations.

  • Eating Disorder Consultation: Discuss CBT-E principles, maintaining mechanisms, treatment engagement, and clinical considerations when working with eating disorders.

  • Treatment Planning and Interventions: Strengthen your ability to select, implement, and adapt evidence-based interventions.

  • Ethical and Professional Challenges: Explore clinical boundaries, documentation concerns, professional responsibilities, and challenging clinical decisions.

  • Therapist Confidence and Professional Growth: Address imposter syndrome, clinical self-doubt, perfectionism, and the challenges of developing your professional identity.

  • Private Practice Development: Discuss the clinical and professional aspects of transitioning into private practice, establishing boundaries, and building a sustainable career.

Who Can Benefit?

Professional consultation is available to licensed mental health professionals, early-career clinicians, and other qualified mental health providers seeking additional clinical support or specialized guidance.

Consultation may be particularly valuable for clinicians who are beginning to work with OCD or eating disorders, encountering unfamiliar clinical presentations, or seeking greater confidence in their therapeutic approach.

Professional consultation is a collaborative, educational service and is not a substitute for formal clinical supervision, independent clinical judgment, or other professional responsibilities. Consultation does not establish a supervisory relationship and does not count toward licensure supervision requirements.
